eek

I have just spent a large amount of money on Boden clothes. I think this is me entering the depths of despair at the thought of having to write lectures and finish a book and I'm shopping to make myself feel better. Does it make difference though that all the clothes are brightly coloured and happy looking?

I think my elbow is straighter than it has been for a while, but my knee is feeling a bit strange as if it's about to swell. But then again I could be hyper sensitive to it all right now.

Just catching up with your blog. Hope things starting to settle? How long does it usually take?
Re psychiatrist. I saw one before I was diagnosed on the ground that I was insane and making it all up (bless those doc's who are so insecure huh?!) and likely to top myself imminently according to GP. Anway cutting a logn story short as I seems to have develped a roblem miosssing keys atm (worrying) tjhe psych was one of the best consultants I ever saw and had some constructive suggestions about work related things.
Maybe its wiorth giving it a go? if not useful then it's not useful, but the whole medicaation issues is sometimes better done by consultant psych than any other.
Ugh, I'm annoying mydrlf now with this. Hope you're ok anyeay. Love BG x

Hello,

I read your comment on my blog and just wanted to get back to you. Well, I've reached 2 1/2 now and am closing in on 3 stone lost. I started in January and made a concerted effort to improve my fitness and reduce my body fat.

I love food too much, so dieting doesn't work for me. I like to eat what I like, and I haven't cut ANYTHING out. I just eat smaller portions and really concentrate on the good stuff. I've cut down on meat, and I rarely drink now. But I just get really nice meat and wine instead ;)

I have joined a gym, and I do have a trainer 2 times a month (sounds like a confession...). BUT I go 3 times a week and work very hard and don't cheat! When I first started I could barely do a brisk walk on the treadmill and now I can run for 25 minutes without stopping. It has not been easy. Combined with cardio work is weight training - this is important because it builds muscle which boosts your metabolism and helps you loose weight. It also has the side effect of bingo-wing reduction, waist-nippage and thigh-trimming (technical terms, dontchaknow).

I have told everyone about it, so I am completely accountable and because of this I haven't missed a session yet.

I've noticed my energy levels go through the roof, which makes me want to bounce around and get out more which makes me loose a bit more weight.

I suppose it's all about trying to make a virtuous circle.

My goal is to fit into my size 8 leather jacket, that I haven't worn since I was 16. Oh, and to not have 'fat bride' pictures when I get married!

MUst. Keep. It. Up.
